Veolia ES Waste-to-Energy is on the leading edge of environmental protection, maintenance and foresite. Veolia’s policy is to manage all of its activities to meet or exceed all environmental laws and regulations and to meet or exceed all environmental requirements included in our permits and contracts with our Customers.

The purpose of our environmental policy is to promote environmental awareness throughout all operations in order to support the Company’s objectives. Our policy states:

(VES-WTE) recognizes and accepts its responsibility for the environment as an integral part of its services and operations.  VES-WTE is committed to excellence and leadership in protecting the environment and promoting environmental sustainability.  VES-WTE will strive to achieve these objectives through an effective Environmental Management System which adheres to the following principles:

COMPLIANCE

It is VES-WTE’s policy to manage all of its activities to meet or exceed all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and other requirements

ETHICS

In conducting our duties as stewards of the environment, VES-WTE is committed to a standard of environmental ethics that goes beyond compliance with environmental regulations.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We will establish measurable environmental improvement goals and targets; regularly audit and review environmental performance; continually monitor and improve environmental performance in existing and new operations; and strive for cost-effectiveness in environmental management by improving operations, and by helping to promote the development of effective and efficient environmental regulations and laws.

POLLUTION PREVENTION

We will take into account the impact of our environmental aspects when making decisions; and implement pollution prevention plans throughout the organization.

COMMUNICATIONS

We will provide training and education to our employees to ensure that they can work safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally sound manner.  We will also communicate openly with employees, clients, the public and regulatory agencies concerning the Company’s environmental performance and improvement plans.
